Thank you for your interest in Clearwater Lodge. Please note that we are a conference and retreat center serving area Christian churches and local non-profits. We therefore do not host weddings or family reunions, and do not rent out individual rooms.
We are confident your group will find our retreat center’s accommodations, hospitality, food service and natural setting to be exceptional, as did this recent group of 159 women:
“I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ for a wonderful weekend at Clearwater Lodge. We have held this event for 14 years and your staff and facilities are by far the nicest we have ever encountered. The Lord moved in and blessed our ladies in so many ways, and all I have heard are rave reviews for Clearwater. We would LOVE to come back. Thanks again for your gracious ministry to us and for the high level of excellence with which you serve the Lord.”

Guest Group FAQ
Q: Does Clearwater Lodge have WiFi?
All meeting rooms and lodge guest rooms have wireless internet. Group leaders will be given the password upon arrival and can decide if/how to pass that on to guests (it is our experience that guests get the most out of their retreat experience by “disconnecting” as much as possible).
Q: Does Clearwater Lodge have adequate cell coverage?
Most cell phone companies have limited service in our area, some more limited than others. Most guests are able to make and receive calls and texts from outside of the buildings, and some have spotty coverage inside. Guests can always give family members our site phone number (509-447-4388 ext. 3). This will reach the kitchen, where someone will answer approximately 6am-7pm. Voicemail will be checked each morning.
Q: What A/V capabilities are provided?
Our meeting rooms are equipped with all basic audio-visual needs at no additional charge. Lakeside has up to four microphones with boom stands, high-quality electronic keyboard, drop down screen, LCD projector, wireless microphone and soundboard. Rendezvous has up to three microphones with boom stands, drop down screen, LCD projector and soundboard. Creekside has a wall-mounted flat-screen with HDMI capabilities and amazing acoustics that do not require microphones. Cliffside does not have any audio visual, but is typically used as a prayer room or breakout space.
Q: What recreational activities are available to lodge guests?
Available activities depend upon the season and weather but are available at no additional charge. Fall and spring are perfect for hiking, walking, disc golf, bonfires (in outdoor fireplaces or existing fire pits), and boating (weather permitting). Winter activities include snowshoeing (we offer 20+ pair of snowshoes for your use) on our marked trails, cross country skiing for guests who bring equipment, reading or conversation by one of our cozy fireplaces. Our many summer activities include swimming, boating (kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle boards, peddle boats), hiking, volleyball, disc golf, games on our upper grass play field, or scheduling facilitators to host some of our adventure options. Facilitators are available to run adventure elements at $75 per facilitator, per day and must be scheduled well in advance. These options include: zip-line into the lake, high and low ropes courses, rock climbing and water rappelling.
Q: Is there good quality coffee on site?
The Clearwater Trading Post is our gift shop and espresso bar, featuring high-end apparel, jewelry, pottery, candles and Starbucks coffee. The Trading Post is typically open each morning before breakfast and during a portion of afternoon free time (to be scheduled with your guest host). Starbucks drip coffee is available in the dining hall at 6:00 am each morning. The nearest restaurants and shopping are otherwise located in north Spokane, with a few limited options available in Newport.
Q: What if some in our group has special dietary needs?
Please notify Ruth Brown, Director of Food Services, of any dietary restrictions among your participants at least one week prior to your event. When possible to adapt the group’s menu selections to accommodate special dietary needs, we will do so. However, our rates do not provide for preparation of separate menu items for individual guests in your party. Each of our lunches and dinners feature fresh fruit and vegetables and include a full salad bar, allowing most guests to build a meal to suit their needs. We can offer limited gluten-free options (bread, pasta) if we know how many guests to plan for at least one week ahead of time. For those guests requiring special meals, the group leader will need to notify that participant to bring along supplementary food items.
Q: What is included in the per person price?
All prices include meals, evening snacks, lodging and facility use (meeting rooms with full A/V, recreational equipment, etc.). Lodge rooms also include all linens, as well as the following toiletries: hand soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. A vase of fresh flowers and hospitality baskets – including water bottles, chocolates and freshly baked cookies – welcome guests to each lodge room. Ponderosa rooms include all linens and hospitality baskets. Classic cabins are our most economical option, and do not include linens or additional items.
Q: Are your facilities handicapped-accessible?
Clearwater Lodge has one ADA guest room (201). All 200 level lodge rooms and Ponderosa A & B are ground level rooms that do not require stairs to access. Anyone with mobility issues should be placed on the 200 level or Ponderosa A or B if they are willing to walk a little further. The Lakeside Room has a lift for anyone who cannot use stairs.
